Jazz at Marty’s in Birmingham

November 6, 2011 Leave a comment Go to comments

Marty’s is a unique bar in Birmingham, AL.  I’ve been playing there for so long that I’ve got to continually remind myself how much I appreciate it and how important it is to the local music scene.  Marty truly believes in music and insists on having live shows in his club EVERY NIGHT!  He has been a great supporter of jazz by reserving Sunday nights for a style music that brings out the best in some of the best musicians in the area.  He does this even when other things might make him more money.  If you’ve never been by Marty’s on a Sunday, give it a try sometime.

Tonight’s offering:  Matthew DeVine – keybaords, Gary Wheat – Saxophone, Kevin Leon – Drums.  We’ll be playing jazz standards, some original compositions and some other more modern jazz.  Show starts at 8:00p.m.   Thanks for your support.
